These three rows of bullets were my second ever screen printing design back in 2012, and I'm still using the same screen for the bullet back patches. They were designed with a photograph of a bullet belt that wasn't even my own - I didn't have one then; they were so expensive (well, still are). Now, I used it to create this new but original bullet print collection.
I'm currently filling the shop with all the new products I made for the markets. This is part one, introducing handpainted zipper pouches with new designs and an old style of handbags that I haven't made for a long time. Even the cut fabric was laying around for ages - no idea why - they turned out gorgeous. In the end, I also added a new homeware item. All of these make great unique gifts! ;)
If you missed the online market, this is for you. Summer is here, and we are finally allowed to go out again, so a belt bags comes in handy on a walk through the town or an evening in the beer garden. If you need to carry around a bit more - a small grocery shopping after work or a sixpack and a jacket for meeting friends in the park - the new shoulder bags are just right.
Maybe it's the weather that doesn't feel like it's the end of May already. On the positive side, things are opening up again. I could meet friends in a beer garden, and it was lovely. I got my first dose of vaccine, and I'm getting tattoed later today. In this blog post, I'll tell you a bit about what I'm working on for Zebraspider and what other news happened or are coming up soon.
I know, it took way too long for these to hit the shop. I would love to create extensive collections and bring them out at once with a cool lookbook and everything. But this is still a side hustle, and only I end up holding creations back because I think they're not ready. So I went ahead with making product photos, and now all three items with the moon phases are finally available, plus a new (old) vest.
The fifth blog post of this month, I'm really sticking to my schedule again! I took a few days off work to make most of the bank holidays and get back to sewing products for the shop. There is also a market again in May, and I like to start preparing early. So, this is a preview of the designs that will be available soon.
This post is mostly for my readers in Germany because you can now get my patches and some other products without worrying about international shipping and customs fees. I'd like to introduce the Punkrock-Shop, which is both an online shop and a market place for punk music, clothing and much more. As a place from punks for punks, I am happy to be a part of it and hope it keeps growing.
Usually, I introduce new designs on the blog before or when they hit the shop. Last year, I didn't manage to do that because I was so busy sewing and then things sold so fast during the market season. I take photos of everything so that I don't forget what I created. As much as I'd like to show all things, to avoid disappointment, these are only the designs that are still available:
Sometimes I make things that I think are too "small" for their own blog post but still worth showing, so I take pictures anyway. It's the little sewing, crafting or drawing projects that also don't have a big story to tell with them, still there are interesting bits about their creation. A few things from last year that I haven't presented yet, are the patchwork pouch, black and white ink drawings and water colour Christmas cards.
You did't hear from me in a while. I had to take a pause from weekly blogging and also from social media. I was so busy preparing for the markets in October that I was a bit exhausted (and also a bit sad that the selling wasn't so successful as I thought it would be). But I created a lot of new things during that time that will make it into the shop bit by bit. Today, I'd like to tell you about the new zipper pouches.
